September 4-5, 2027

As summer gives way to early fall in Bristol, expect crisp mornings and comfortably warm afternoons in the high 60s and early 70s. Yellow wildflowers will be spectacular and hydrangeas will be in bloom.  

  • Average high temperature: ~ 67-70°F (~ 19-21°C) 
  • Average low temperature: ~ 53-55°F (~ 12-13°C)
  • Foliage: Very early in the foliage season; mostly green throughout the region with only isolated early signs of color

September 11-12, 2027

Early-to-mid September in Bristol still feels like the gentle transition from summer to fall. Expect warm afternoons with cool, crisp mornings — perfect for outdoor festivities without the summer humidity. Wildflowers and hydrangeas still linger, while hints of autumn begin along wooded edges.

  • Average high temperature: ~ 67–69°F (~ 19–21°C)
  • Average low temperature: ~ 54–56°F (~ 12–13°C)
  • Foliage: Mostly green with the earliest touches of autumn color emerging in sheltered inland spots.

September 18-19, 2027

By mid-September, the days are comfortably warm and the evenings refreshingly cool. The air has a clear, inviting quality, ideal for seaside views and sunset photos. Many Mainers think this is the best week of the year!

  • Average low temperature: ~ 52–55°F (~ 11–13°C)
  • Foliage: Early fall tones begin to emerge more noticeably inland and in hillsides, while coastal landscapes remain predominantly green, gently heralding the change of seasons.

September 25-26, 2027

Late September brings a more autumnal feel to Bristol. Days remain mild and pleasant, though a bit cooler than earlier in the month, and mornings start to feel distinctly crisp.

  • Average low temperature: ~ 50–53°F (~ 10–12°C)
  • Foliage: More widespread fall color is unfolding, creating a picturesque setting of reds, oranges, and golds — especially lovely against coastal greens and the ocean!

October 2-3, 2027

As early October arrives in Bristol, afternoons are mild and evenings cool. This is typically the start of Maine’s stunning fall foliage season. Coastal areas remain mostly green but are accented with bright splashes of fall colors, creating a beautiful backdrop for a celebration.

  • Average low temperature: ~ 45-47°F (~ 7-8°C)
  • Foliage: Early to mid-transition; colorful leaves beginning to spread across the region, offering quintessential autumn scenery.

October 9-10, 2027

As mid-autumn arrives, days are typically crisp and mornings chilly. It’s an ideal time for weddings in Maine. The air has a clean, refreshing edge and the foliage is unfolding into the rich colors we all love!
